Companions will not register the affinity increase until their next normal affinity change. Loved is a major boost (many many times better than liked) hate is pretty bad negative (more times than liked) adored = they will do the quest, also seems to be halfway.

Can't do the companion quests even with setting affinity in the console because dialogue won't que until a normal affinity gain happens. The console is a debugging tool in the windows version of fallout 4.
